Notes from the Engineering Desk

An opening note on what I plan to write about — distributed systems, code as craft, and the small details that make backends boring in the best way.

This is the first post in the Engineering section of the blog. Expect short write-ups on distributed systems, the small design choices that decide whether a service feels reliable, and the parts of software craft that don't fit on a resume.

What goes here

  • Architecture sketches from systems I've worked on (sanitised, of course).
  • Postmortems of bugs that taught me something I didn't know before.
  • Reading notes from papers and blog posts I keep coming back to.

What doesn't

Hot takes, framework wars, "X considered harmful" rants. The bar is: would I want to read this two years from now?
